In the last article, I gave an overview of the new ChatGPT Custom Instructions feature.

Today I am sharing my list of the top 50 business use cases for Custom Instructions organized by role. These will give you ideas on how to configure ChatGPT to fit your needs.

Before we beginโ€ฆ a big thank you to our sponsor.

Synthesia creates videos from text using pre-built avatars or your own!

Without the need for actors, cameras, or mics, enter the text you want the avatar to speak and watch it come to life.

The best feature is the ability to edit videos in the future without having to reshoot the entire thing. Thatโ€™s super powerful.

Itโ€™s pretty wild. Give it a try.

โš™๏ธ How to use this list

Here is a quick example of how to set up your ChatGPT Custom Instructions.

Take an example use case from the list, like this one:

Marketers: add your target market and product to generate marketing campaigns or taglines that resonate with your audience.

Then in the ChatGPT Custom Instructions setting, you would answer the two questions like this:

What would you like ChatGPT to know about you to provide better responses?

I am a marketing manager at a law firm that is building an AI-powered assistant that can help our clients fill out simple legal forms that our attorneys review before getting finalized and approved. My goal is to save our clients money by not having to pay attorney and paralegal fees for simple requests.

Our law firm specializes in immigration to and from the United States.

We want to position ourselves as a friendly, modern, casual, and tech-savvy law firm that is still serious, professional, and knowledgeable when it comes to the law.

How would you like ChatGPT to respond?

Use a casual but professional tone, and avoid using slang aggressively. If you respond with a reference to a legal case, only do so if it is real and if you can share a source for the legal case. Do not create our own laws or legal cases.
